The South African Police Service (SAPS) invites unemployed graduates to apply for the 2025/2026 Graduate Internship Programme funded by the Safety and Security Sector Education and Training Authority (SASSETA). The programme offers a 24-month Workplace Integrated Learning (WIL) Internship designed to provide graduates with practical workplace experience in various fields within SAPS. This initiative forms part of the National Human Resource Development Strategy and the National Skills Development Strategy, aimed at developing skills and improving employment opportunities for young graduates in South Africa.
The internship opportunities are available in several disciplines including Social Work, Psychology/Trauma Counselling, Crime Intelligence Analysis, Internal Audit, Risk Management, and Integrity Management. Successful candidates will gain valuable exposure by working within different SAPS divisions and academies across the country while contributing to programmes that support organisational effectiveness, employee wellbeing, intelligence analysis, governance, and risk management within the South African Police Service.

Generic Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Must be a South African citizen
- Must be between the ages of 18 and 35
- Must have a National Senior Certificate (Matric) or equivalent qualification (NCV Level 4)
- Must have no criminal record or pending criminal cases
- Must be unemployed
- Must not have previously worked in the field of the advertised post
- Must not have participated in an internship programme related to the field of the post
- Applicants may apply for a maximum of three (3) positions
- A separate application form must be completed for each reference number
